A Bid for the Cure
Thanks to all who helped make the inaugural Bid for the Cure event a great success! $5,000 was raised through ticket sales and a silent auction to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Over 150 people attended the event – enjoying an evening of live music from Omaha Jazz Combo, hors d’oeuvres catered by Wine 121, refreshments, art and fun. Tickets were just $25 – which included food, drink and five raffle tickets. Prizes for the raffle spotlighted items from Markel, Kimberly Spa and Deniz Shoes. Janice Batt also raffled off dance lessons by Nia Technique.
All participating artists have generously donated any profits from the silent auction – above the minimum starting bid – to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Nearly 30 art pieces were sold.
Markel has been a supporter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for many years with The Ultimate Drive Fundraiser. By participating in this annual event, we have donated tens of thousands of dollars supporting breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
